Workable solution to traffic problem: SHC directs to submit report till May 22

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday directed provincial secretaries of transport & land utilization and senior member of the Board of Revenue to submit the report in the court on May 22, 2019 about a workable solution to the problem of heavy traffic in the metropolis.
A division bench of the SHC headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar resumed the hearing on the case related to entry of heavy traffic, pending since 2017.
The Commissioner Karachi had submitted a plan in the court related to resolution of the problem, however transporters association rejected it on the basis of 100kms away bus terminal land from the center of the city is not a workable plan.
During today's hearing, the bench directed senior member board of revenue and secretaries transport and land utilization to find out a workable solution and asked them to submit the report by May 22.
Meanwhile, SHC bench sought the comments about the maintainability of petition, filed against the book of former skipper of national cricket team Shahid Afridi.
Abdul Jalil Khan Marwat-self-claimed, "the most dedicate fan of cricket in Pakistan", moved SHC against the book and submitted that said publication of this book in print, electronic and social media are unlawful, unwarranted and in violation of articles of constitution.
Shahid Afridi, Wajahat Saeed Khan, author of biography of Shahid Afridi and others have been made respondents in the petition.
The petition submitted before the court that alleged misrepresentation of Afridi's age had hurt, humiliated and defamed cricket and stated that "illegal acts, omissions caused by the respondents is in violation of various articles of constitution, Pakistan Penal Code, Cyber Crime Law and the norms of human rights".
During the hearing, the court observed that apparently the petition falls in the domain o civil suit as the fundamental rights of people are not seemed to be affected.
The court, however directed petitioner and respondents to give their comments in the next hearing about that maintainability of the petition.
In another case, a division bench of the SHC approved the interim bail of Aamir Chishti and Ali Farhan, owners of Darul Sehat hospital against the surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each.
The court approved the bail for ten days of owners of Darul Sehat, which came into limelight after a minor girl Nishwa expired due to administrating a wrong injection to her. Court also issued notices to Prosecutor General of Sindh Government in the petition of hospital owners for bail.
