The Karachi Port handled 142,495 tonnes of cargo comprising 100,701 tonnes of import cargo and 41,794 tonnes of export cargo including 7,190 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargos of 100,701 tonnes comprised of 56,034 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,979 tonnes of bulk cargo; 4,360 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 34,328 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 41,794 tonnes comprised of 31,151 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,673 tonnes of cement and 4,970 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,190 containers comprising of 4,513 containers import and 2,677 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,098 of 20's and 1,422 of 40's loaded while 199 of 20's and 186 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 950 of 20's and 367 of 40's loaded containers while 147 of 20's and 423 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely APL Minnesota, Xin Fu Zhou, MT Lahore and MP MR Tanker-1 carrying containers, oil tanker and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Cosco Hong Kong, Xin Fu Zhou, Botany Bay, MT Quetta and Tiger Tntegrity carrying containers and Oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 146,214 tonnes comprising 141,559 tonnes of import cargo and 4,655 tonnes of export cargo including 3,045 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 141,559 tonnes includes 49,700 tonnes of LNG; 3,100 tonnes of LPG; 4,000 tonnes of coal; 3,351 tonnes of chemical; 20,457 tonnes of steel coil; 7,751 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 53,200 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 4,655 tonnes includes 4,655 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,045 containers comprising of 2,800 containers import and 245 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely White Purl carrying LPG sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely Maersk Chicago and Globe Rose carrying containers and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seed, chemical, steel coil, LPG and LNG respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as six vessels viz. Hong Dai, Bosch Hoek, Glene Agles, Malhari, Constantinos and BW Panthar respectively carrying soyabean, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. Los Angeles Trader, Glene Agles and Malhari carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely Los Angeles Trader carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
There are two ships namely APL Antwerp and Hugo Schulte carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
