It is quite unfortunate that bureaucrats or those who are perceived as being concerned with procedural correctness at the expense of people's needs, are taking to the streets to raise voice under intense media glare in support of their demands.
According to media reports, bureaucrats of Office Management and Secretariat Groups yesterday protested against the government in the federal capital demanding an increase in their salaries and perks in the upcoming budget for fiscal year 2019-20.
The government is therefore required to look into the issues raised by them without any loss of time. Prime minister Imran Khan must not lose sight of the fact that political culture can affect a bureaucrat's mode of thinking and behaving.
