Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said the government has ensured transparent utilization of development schemes and no compromise will be made on the quality and timeline of development projects. He said this while chairing a meeting in his office on Monday in which development schemes pertaining to Southern Punjab came under discussion. The CM expressed displeasure over delay in the projects and said those responsible for the delay in public welfare schemes will have to be answerable and he will not tolerate any delay in welfare programmes.
In the new Pakistan, the CM said that more work should be done instead of lip service and performance will have to be given for bringing change. Mere presentations will not work and the standard of governance will improve when people will be facilitated practically, he said, adding: "Development schemes pertaining to the welfare of the common man should be timely completed."
The CM directed to expedite the pace of work on the development of roadmap of remote and backward areas adding that development schemes should be completed by the end of the current fiscal year.
Usman Buzdar said that the people will get relief due to the timely completion of development schemes pertaining to the development of healthcare and education sectors, infrastructural development, repair and maintenance of roads and the provision of clean drinking water. He made it clear that no discrimination will be done with regard to the distribution of development funds in the districts.
The CM directed that work on the beautification of entry and exit points of southern Punjab districts should be completed soon. Similarly, he said that an effective system of removing garbage from the cities is essential and there is a need to further improve the cleanliness system.
Chairman P&D, SMBR, ACS (Home), IG Police, administrative secretaries and others attended the meeting.
