Sports Board Punjab (SBP) and the Punjab Football Association (PFA) have decided to make joint efforts for promotion of football in schools across the province. This understanding was reached in a meeting between Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar and Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Vice-President Malik Amir Dogar, President Punjab Football Association Sardar Naveed Haider and President Sahiwal Football Association Naveed Arshad Lodhi MPA.
Nadeem Sarwar said that football is one of the popular sports of the country and there should be proper patronisation of this game in the country.
"The Sports Board Punjab will also hold three-week under-16 training camps in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi with the collaboration of Punjab Football Association," he added.
Malik Amir Dogar and Sardar Naveed Haider assured to provide FIFA and AFC qualified coaches for the top standard training of young players during camp sessions. The up-gradation of football grounds was also discussed during the meeting.
