Sindh police arrest 3,669 POs in five months

The Sindh Police claimed to have arrested as many as 3669 proclaimed offenders (POs) in their 447 actions conducted as part of ongoing crackdown against criminals across the province, from January 1st till May 15, 2019. The provincial police during the same period last year had nabbed 3256 such accused in their 360 encounters, said the official statistics released here on Tuesday. Some 59 guns/Kalashnikovs, 2845 pistols, 94 revolvers, 17 carbines, and around 133 hand grenades were also recovered from them during the course of police actions this year.
During the same period last year, the provincial police had recovered 53 guns/ Kalashnikovs, 2585 pistols, 71 revolvers, 14 carbines, and some 97 hand grenades, the report said.
