The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Thursday announced that AJ Sports are their kit sponsor for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which will be played in England and Wales from 30 May to 14 July. Established in 1987, AJ Sports is an ICC-approved manufacturer, which has also previously sponsored and supplied clothing and cricket equipment to the Pakistan cricket team for various series and also to the Bangladesh and Sri Lanka cricket teams for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.
Zakir Khan, PCB Director - International, said: "We are pleased to announce AJ Sports as Pakistan cricket team's kit sponsor for the ICC Cricket World Cup. The PCB has previously worked with AJ Sports and have been impressed with their equipment and clothing. Record eyeballs are expected to follow the Pakistan cricket team at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and the PCB is confident that through this sponsorship, AJ Sports will be able to cement their status as one of the major cricket brands."
Director AJ Sports, Syed Ibne Haider, said: "It is a matter of great pride and honour for us to be associated with the Pakistan Cricket Board as sponsors of the Pakistan cricket team's kit for the biggest cricket spectacle on planet. AJ Sports and the PCB have a strong relationship, which has strengthened and fostered over the years. We are hopeful that we will continue to remain associated with the Pakistan Cricket Board in the coming years."
Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign at Trent Bridge on 31 May against two-time world champions the West Indies. Their other matches are against England (3 June, Trent Bridge), Sri Lanka (7 June, Bristol), Australia (12 June, Taunton), India (16 June, Old Trafford), South Africa (23 June, Lord's), New Zealand (26 June, Edgbaston), Afghanistan (29 June, Headingley) and Bangladesh (5 July, Lord's).
The semi-finals will be played on 9th and 11th July at Old Trafford and Edgbaston, respectively, with the final at Lord's on 14 July.
