Death toll rises to 8 in boat capsize tragedy

Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Capt Fariddudin Mustafa (retd) informed on Sunday that 5 women and 3 children drowned in the incident while 7 persons survived. He identified the deceased as 35 years old Qaima Machhi, 30 years old Gulzadi Machhi, 25 years old Shahzadi Machhi, 50 years old Aasat Machhi, 35 years old Popri Machhi, one year old Imran Machhi, one year old Abdul Wahab Machhi and 2 years old Ahmed Machhi.
According to the DC, the dead bodies of Aasat and Popri had been found while the search for the dead bodies of 3 drowned women and as many children continued.
The DC told that the deceased had gone to Matiari district, located on the left bank of Indus, to buy medicines.
