Players of the Pakistan cricket team have expressed determination for showing good performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 which is set to begin from May 31, according to a message received here on Wednesday.
Pakistani players are excited and share their thoughts on wearing the team jersey, hopes and expectations for the World Cup.
Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed said, "The World Cup is an event from where people become heroes. We will try to perform well for Pakistan so people remember us in good words."
Shoaib Malik said, "Whenever you wear the Pakistan kit you have proud feelings. This is something which is difficult to describe in words, but I am feeling proud and all I want to do is to do well for the country."
Mohammad Hafeez said, "Obviously it was a proud feeling. I pray that winning the World Cup which is missing from my career is fulfilled."
Shaheen Shah Afridi said, "Last year I played the under-19 World Cup and after that played in all three formats for Pakistan. I feel proud to play in the World Cup for Pakistan."
Mohammad Hasnain said, "I want to thank Allah for performing well in the PSL. I found a new life from there and will try to perform in the World Cup as I did in the PSL. I am hopeful of performing well and making a name for myself."
Fakhar Zaman said, "After the Champions Trophy, almost everything changed for me. I feel great to be part of the World Cup and would be even happier when we perform well in the tournament."
Imam ul Haq said, "I have played in two under-19 World Cup's which were also proud moments. My journey to the World Cup has been great and Inshallah I will try my hardest to perform well in every match and start with a century against the West Indies."
Babar Azam said, "There was a separate feeling when I represented Pakistan in the under-19 World Cup and this is a separate feeling. I enjoy everything and try to perform my best."
Haris Sohail said, "You have a responsibility and the way I have performed for Pakistan in the last series, I will try to keep this going in the World Cup."
Shadab Khan said, "When we won the Champions Trophy the way people supported us it was a moment of great joy."
Hasan Ali shared "I am very proud of wearing Pakistan's shirt and playing the World Cup for the first time. I wish to perform for Pakistan and do something which makes my country win the World Cup." Imad Wasim said, "Representing your country is a thing of honour. The World Cup is an event that if you win you become a hero. The 210 million supporting us we will try our best not to disappoint them."
