China attaches high importance to the visit of Vice President Wang Qishan to Pakistan, scheduled to take place from May 26 to 28. A spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lu Kang told reporters here on Friday that the Chinese State leader is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
China, believed that Wang Qishan's visit will further deepen China-Pakistan high-level exchanges, consolidate friendship and mutual trust, promote the construction of China-Pakistan economic corridor and pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
It is hoped that the visit will also promote people-to-people contacts and cooperation and promote the all-weather strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The visit, he added, will add new impetus to the ever-green relationship of the two countries.
During the visit, the Vice President will meet with President Dr Arif Alwi and hold talks with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The two sides will exchange views on how to deepen China-Pakistan relations and international and regional issues of common concern.
China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners and are "hardcore" friends.
The two sides have always firmly supported each other on issues concerning the core interests of each other. China has always placed Pakistan in the priority direction of China's diplomacy.
At present, China-Pakistan relations enjoy a good momentum of development.
The two countries have frequent high-level exchanges, and mutually beneficial cooperation has been continuously expanded and deepened, and they have closely coordinated and coordinated in international and regional affairs.
Just last month, Prime Minister Imran Khan came to China to attend the second "Belt and Road" international cooperation summit forum. President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Vice President Wang Qishan met him respectively. The two sides signed a number of bilateral cooperation documents, the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Office, the visit of the Vice President reaffirms the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China, it added.
Wang Qishan is a member of 13th National People's Congress of China and Central Foreign Affairs Commission, a key Foreign Affairs body of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The FO said the visit is in continuation of high-level exchanges between the two countries, which have acquired an increased momentum since the Prime Minister's visit to China in November 2018 and his participation in the 2nd Belt and Road Forum in Beijing in April 2019.
Pakistan and China will sign MoUs/ agreements and inaugurate projects to enhance bilateral cooperation in a broad range of areas.
The visit of the Vice President underscores the vitality of the time-tested and all-weather relationship between Pakistan and China. It would reinforce the strength of bilateral ties and impart further impetus to the growing, multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields, the statement added.
