KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a wanted suspect, along with two accomplices, during a raid in Korangi area of the metropolis.

According to rangers’ spokesman, the paramilitary forces carried a raid in Korangi area and apprehended a wanted criminal Javed Akhtar along with his two accomplices Ifran Pahtahn and Aubdul Sattar.

The accused, Javed Akhtar, was admitted to JPMC under police custody, where he fled after snatching a police weapon with the help of his wife Anila on 10 January 2018.

The rangers also recovered a 99-mm pistol, a 30-bore pistol, a snatched SMG, three hand grenades, different types of 43 rounds, six mobile phones, 11 SIM cards, seven memory cards, four USBs and a car from their possession.

They were handed over to police for further legal action.
