Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that relations between Pakistan and China are strengthening with every passing day and will lay the foundation of a 'prosperous Pakistan.' He was speaking at a dinner hosted in honor of Vice President of China Wang Qishan at Governor's House here Monday. Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jung, Chinese Consular General Lung Dung, members of Chinese delegation and provincial ministers attended the event.
The Governor maintained that foundation of Pak China friendship has been laid on desire for peace, mutual respect, mutual experiences, and cultural ties. "CPEC has helped in heightening the mutual ties, bringing them to new level and creating new opportunities," he said, adding: "Big portion of population in Punjab is comprised of youth and we have to create new opportunities in Textile, Agriculture and Technology for them."
Governor Punjab said that visit of Chinese Vice President Wang Che Shan is manifestation of great relations between the two countries. "I congratulate China which is achieving fastest economic growth in world," he said. Pakistan is proud to become part of CPEC-flagship project which is opening Asian markets for our exports and creating jobs in Pakistan, he added.
He said, "Our government, as per vision of PM Imran Khan is cooperating China to mitigate environment change, education crisis and lackluster economic growth,"the Governor said, adding: "I have tasked by Prime Minister Imran Khan to work for religious tourism and clean drinking water and I will work together with Chinese leadership to learn from their valuable experiences in these areas."
Earlier, Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan was given a warm-welcome by Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar. Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that arrival of the Chinese Vice President to Pakistan is a matter of honor and pride for us. The signing of agreements and MoUs will start a new era of development and prosperity, he said, adding: "Inauguration of CPEC projects is a welcome step. We welcome the Chinese Vice President to Lahore from the core of our hearts." The Chinese Vice President has brought the messages of love, he said.
Chinese Vice President said that he is very happy to visit Lahore. Provincial Ministers Raja Basharat, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Samiullah Ch, Syed Sumsam Bukhari, Ansar Majeed Niazi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ashfa Riaz, Ijaz Alam, Hafiz Mumtaz, Colonel Hashim Dogar (retd), Taimoor Khan Bhatti, Nauman Langrial, chief secretary, IGP, principal secretary to CM and high officials welcomed the Chinese Vice President. Moreover, Chinese Vice President and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the Haier Ruba Economic Zone and inspected its various sections.
