Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) on Thursday adopted a resolution against the reference filed in Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Qazi Faez Isa, judge of Supreme Court (SC). Resolution unanimously condemned the reference at general body meeting, presided over by President SHCBA Muahmmad Aqil.
"The association unanimously condemns the reference sent by President of Pakistan to Supreme Judicial Council against Justice Feaz Isa, one of the most honest and upright judge of the SC with unimpeachable integrity and impeccable legal pedigree," the resolution reads. It states that the reference is counterblast of Quetta Carnage Commission report and judgment of Faizabad Dharna.
It also appreciated act of Zahid F Ibrahim, Additional Attorney General of Pakistan, who resigned from his office in protest after the government filed a reference with the SJC against judges of superior courts. It stated that reference is malicious and is aimed at undermining independence of judiciary and rule of law and rejected the pressure tactics by demanding the immediate withdrawal of frivolous and malevolent reference.
