Jaccobabad sizzled with 49 degrees Celsius as hot weather scorched parts of the country on Thursday, according to the Met Office. Dadu, Mohenjo-Daro and Larkana witnessed as high as 48 degrees Celsius, each, Rahim Yar Khan, Sibbi, Noorpur Thal, Rohri, Bahawalnagar and Sukkur 47, each, in the last 24 hours. "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," the Met said. In the next 24 hours: Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country, while very hot in eastern Balochistan, Sindh, plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
However, isolated dust-thunderstorm and rains are expected in Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi Divisions, besides Islamabad and Kashmir. Warm and hot weather is expected to simmer Karachi with a maximum 39 degrees Celsius and humidity up to 75 percent on Friday and Saturday. In the last 24 hours: Weather remained hot and dry in the most parts of the country, while very hot in eastern Balochistan, Sindh, plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
