A meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and President of Afghanistan Dr Ashraf Ghani held on the sidelines of the 14th Islamic Summit in Makkah-al-Makarramah on Friday is a highly significant development. It is about time the Afghan president stopped doubting Pakistan's intentions with regard to greater peace in the landlocked country as Prime Minister Imran Khan has made it clear that his country is always for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan. He has also underlined Pakistan's firm support for an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peaqce process for political solution in Afghanistan.
The Afghan government must therefore stop working towards raising the bogey of 'Pashtoonistan' without any further loss of time.
