Members of Sharif family are meeting with the former PM Nawaz Sharif here at Kot Lakhpat Prison today. Sources claimed that Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz's mother Begum Shamim Akhter, nephew Hamza Shahbaz and others are expected to meet him today. They are going to take lunch together. The PML-N has blamed PM Imran Khan for not allowing Sharif family to meet Nawaz during Eid holidays.
The sources claimed that Nawaz had faced problem in breathing and on the request of Jail Superintendent, a team of PIC examined Nawaz Sharif on Eid day.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has condemned the move by the jail authorities to not let the family meet Nawaz. He said, "Not letting Nawaz meet his mother and daughter on Eid is political revenge. He added, "The government is responsible for looking after Nawaz in jail. If anything happens to Nawaz while in jail, Imran Niazi will be responsible."
The PML-N president added that despite the ill health of his brother, he has not been allowed to meet his personal doctor. He also demanded that a critical care unit be set up in the hospital and that doctors be provided.
