The local tourists have thronged the touristic spots in Galiyat, Swat, Kaghan and Naran of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. According to district administrations and Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) long queue of vehicles have been witnessed entering these tourists' attractive areas.
More than 60,000 vehicles mostly cars have been registered entering Galiyat during the Eid holidays wherein the beside, district administration, the personnel of police, Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) and volunteers are also supporting the administration to ensure smooth flow of traffic on roads.
A huge rush of vehicles has entered Ayubia, a hill station at Galiyat wherein the authorities had requested the motorists to avoid making double line on any highway and wrong parking to minimize the traffic problem.
Similar situation is also witnessed in district Swat wherein thousands of motorists are on the roads at Bahrain and Kalam. There were also some complaints of overcharging by the hotels and restaurants in the area. However, the district administration has also come into action against the overcharging. Besides, imposition of heavy penalties on hotels, the overcharged amounts have been recovered and returned to the tourists.
The Chief Minister KP has expressed happiness over the restoration of tourism in the province and attributed it to the accomplishment of the dream of the Prime Minister Imran Khan. He has directed the district administrations for provision of all possible facilities to the tourists. He said the restoration of tourism would generate employment opportunities and improve the economy of the province.
