Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif, who is returning home from London on Sunday (today), is all set to start hectic political activities. Shahbaz will meet the PML-N leaders on Sunday and chalk out party's future strategy. He is scheduled to meet the leaders of parliamentary group on Monday (June 10) in his chamber in the National Assembly. Later he would chair the PML-N parliamentary party.
The PML-N president has also called the meeting of the Economic Advisory Council on June 12. The council will discuss the country's overall economic situation and chalk out future strategy. Sources in the PML-N said that Shahbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet leaders of other opposition parties ahead of APC to be called by Maulana Fazl ur Rehman.
It may be noted that Shahbaz was arrested in the Ashiana Housing case on October 5, 2018, and released on bail in February by the Lahore High Court. Sharif's name was also removed from the exit control list (ECL). The PML-N president left for London in April to visit his grandchildren and to undergo a medical check-up, following which doctors advised him not to travel.
Moreover, a meeting of the PML-N was held at the PML-N Secretariat in which matters concerning arrival of Shahbaz Sharif, party's re-organisation affairs and future political activities of the party were discussed. The meeting was chaired by the PML-N senior leader Mohammad Pervaiz Malik.
After the meeting, PML-N leader Khawaja Imran Nazir said the PML-N workers want to accord reception to their leader Shahbaz Sharif on his arrival on Sunday but it was decided in the meeting that the PML-N legislators and activists would reach airport on Sunday in their personal capacity. Khawaja Imran Nazir slammed the PTI government over soaring inflation and anti-people steps. He said the PML-N would hold protest movement against the inapt government.
