The Sales Tax Officers Association of Pakistan (STOAP) Monday chalked out a future action plan in the light of budget proposals submitted to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for fiscal year (2019-20). The FBR is finalizing the budget proposal from Inland Revenue officials to revise mechanism for administration of sales tax and federal excise duty (FED) by establishing separate Sales Tax Zone in each field formation on the pattern of Withholding Zone in the upcoming budget (2019-20).
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi has also constituted a high-powered committee to address the long standing service related issues of different cadres of sales tax officers. The meeting on Monday also discussed that the FBR chief has constituted a high powered committee comprising Member IR Operations, Member IR Policy, Member Administration and Chief Management to address the long standing service related issues of different cadres of Sales Tax Officers.
The STOAP conducted "Eid Milan" gatherings at its field formations including Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs), Corporate Regional Tax Offices (CRTOs), Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), Directorates General of Intelligence and Investigation, Directorates General of Internal Audit, Directorates General of Post Clearance Audit all over Pakistan.
President STOAP Raza Ashfaq Sheikh greeted all the members and congratulated them for their unprecedented support for the STOAP. He also said that the unity of the STOAP members was the key to success. The members were also apprised about the future action plan of the STOAP leading towards achievement of its objectives. All the members were also present at gatherings held at their respective field offices of the FBR.
