Sikh scholars would be included in the Board of Governors (BoGs) of Baba Guru Nanak University, which will have autonomous status to large extent and also meet the international standard. The Governor Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwar chaired a meeting of the Committee on promotion of religious tourism and national heritage, here today. Among others, Chief Secretary Punjab Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, Chairman Evacuee Trust Board Ameer Ahmar, Secretary Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Zulfiqar Ghumman, Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab Dr Shoaib Akbar and others attended the meeting.
The committee instructed to ensure paying back the amount of lands to the property owners acquired for Darbar Sahib Complex at Kartarpur Corridor. During the meeting, the Governor briefed the participants about steps to be taken in next phase of Kartarpur Corridor. He also showed confidence over work done at Kartarpur Corridor and appreciated the progress of the project till date.
