The PTI-led Punjab government has decided monitoring of development projects, to ensure transparency and correct utilization of funds in the province. In this regard, Chief Minister's Inspection Team (CMIT), Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) and other departments have been assigned the responsibility, to monitor the development schemes and an effective monitoring mechanism has also been designed for the monitoring of different development projects including the DG Khan Development Package.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed authorities concerned to implement the monitoring mechanism in letter and spirit. He also directed to keep him abreast of the progress on daily basis adding that no compromise will be made on the quality of construction work. He said that high quality of public welfare schemes will also be ensured; proper utilization of public funds can be ensured by maintaining high quality of the development schemes. "I am the custodian of the public resources and no one will be allowed to waste the resources in the province," he said, adding: "I will keep an eye on the monitoring mechanism and any delay or leniency will not be tolerated in the development schemes."
Moreover, a new system is being introduced to issue ownership deeds of lands through commercial banks in the province. In this regard, a high-level meeting was held in the CM Office with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in the chair. Addressing the meeting, the CM maintained that separate counters will be established in the banks, to issue ownership deeds and this step will further facilitate the people to get ownership deeds of their lands.
It may be added that the Punjab government has also decided to start online issuing of ownership deeds and this system will be activated from July first. The CM directed that the system of depositing revenue dues at every land record center should be introduced and added that the project of extending the scope of land record centers should be completed as soon as possible. He said that a transparent system of promoting farming will be introduced by giving state land on lease. He made it clear that public complaints about corruption of revenue staff are not tolerable and added that helpline/ call center should be further activated to overcome the corruption in revenue department.
