The Sindh government has set a challenging revenue target of Rs145 billion for Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) for Tax Year 2019-20. The SRB target was announced by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah during his budget speech at Sindh Assembly here.
He said that the SRB is the only tax entity that is consistently performing, unlike the federal government entities, and those in other provinces. He said that when sales tax was collected by federal government, the collection was Rs 16.6 billion in 2010-11. After the devolution, Sindh government gradually improved its collection and collected Rs 100.0 billion in 2017-18. Therefore, the Sindh government has set a challenging target of Rs145.0 billion for SRB for year 2019-20.
