Fuel price adjustment formula: 21 paisa raise in Discos sought

Central Power Purchasing Agency Guaranteed (CPPA-G) has sought 21 paisa increase in Discos for May 2019 under monthly fuel price adjustment formula. National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hold a public hearing on June 26, 2019 to finalize the decision. According to the CPPA-G petition net electricity delivered to Discos was 12,219 Gwh at a cost of Rs 64. 282 billion or Rs 5.2607 per unit against the reference price of Rs 5.0457 per unit. The share of hydel generation was 29.73 percent in total generation whereas the share of gas and LNG fired generation was 16.32 percent and 28.76 percent respectively.
