The incidents of motor vehicle theft registered an increase as over 10 cases of car lifting were reported to different police stations of the city during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, over five cases of various kinds of theft, another five cases of kidnapping and two cases of murder were also reported to various police stations of the city during the last week.
The most "favorite" areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Karachi Company, Golra, and Industrial Area and Khanna police stations. During the aforementioned period, Karachi Company police station registered three cases of auto theft while one case each of murder and kidnapping.
The auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number XN-116 of one person namely Muhammad Saleem valuing Rs 69,000, lifted another bike bearing registration number RIS-4798 of a person Ehtisham Ali valuing Rs 80,000 and stole a car bearing registration number MNJ-6992 of a citizen Basarat Ali parked in front of his house.
One victim Abdullah filed a complaint that unknown assailments have killed his son Muhammad Bilal Ahmed and injured his cousin Ehtishamul-Haq with sharp-edged weapons. One Shehnaz Bibi informed Karachi Company police station that accused Ahsan has kidnapped his daughter. During the aforementioned period, Golra police station registered one case
each of robbery and kidnapping. One Abdur Rauf filed a complaint with Golra police station that unknown robbers stole steel bars valuing Rs 80,000 from his under-construction house. Another Muhammad Akbar informed Golra police station that accused Usman has kidnapped his daughter. In the same period, Industrial Area police station registered one case each of robbery and carjacking. One Muhammad Khan informed Industrial Area police station that unidentified robbers have stolen two batteries, UPS, laptop and other valuables valuing Rs 150,000 from his house.
The auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number RIK-3060 of a citizen Mazhar Hussain valuing Rs 60,000. Two cases of auto theft were reported to Khanna police station. The auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number MNO-251 of one Muhammad Saeed valuing Rs 55,000 and lifted a bike bearing registration number CHL-2992 of another Mulazim Hussain worth Rs 65,000.
During the aforementioned period, one case each of kidnapping was reported to Bani Gala, Aabpara and Margalla police stations, while Kohsar, Koral and Sihala police stations registered one case each of auto theft.
