The Karachi Port handled 112,360 tonnes of cargo comprising 73,443 tonnes of import cargo and 38,917 tonnes of export cargo including 7,646 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargos of 73,443 tonnes comprised of 45,412 tonnes of containerised cargo; 492 tonnes of bulk cargo; 2,457 tonnes of canola; 5,102 tonnes of DAP; 630 tonnes of palm kernel and 19,350 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 38,917 tonnes comprised of 35,038 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,640 tonnes of talcum powder; 2,239 tonnes of rice and 1,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 7,646 containers comprising of 3,437 containers import and 4,209 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 883 of 20's and 1,227 of 40's loaded while 42 of 20's and 29 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 887 of 20's and 641 of 40's loaded containers while 622 of 20's and 709 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eight ships namely OOCL California, Hyundai Colombo, Kota Kamil, MS Tiger, Palomar, BW Neon, Aegean Highway and Dato Fortune carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Kota Kamil, Ningbo Express, Irenes Reliance, KMTC Dubai, ER Felixstowe, gelsius Miami and Aegean Highway carrying containers, oil tanker and vehicle respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 213,690 tonnes comprising 192,944 tonnes of import cargo and 20,746 tonnes of export cargo including 3,542 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 192,944 tonnes includes 61,275 tonnes of LNG; 3,900 tonnes of palm oil; 62,431 tonnes of coal; 6,245 tonnes of soyabean; 915 tonnes of project cargo and 58,178 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,746 tonnes includes; 4,650 tonnes of talcum powder; 6,976 tonnes of condensate and 9,120 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,542 containers comprising of 3,062 containers import and 480 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were two ships namely GSL Tianjin and Vassos carrying containers and soyabean respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while four more ships namely Pure Vision, Orchard Quay, Yari LNG and Al-Thakhira carrying coal and LNG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, talcum powder, coal, soyabean, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight vessels viz. Maersk Santosa, Anet, Ceylon Breeze, Chiarand Amato, IVS North Berwick, Kiran Basporus, Zoes and TBC Progress respectively carrying containers, general cargo, soyabean, canola seeds, rice and palm kernel respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three ships viz. Maersk Sentosa, IVS North Berwick and Ceylon Breeze respectively carrying containers, coal and soyabean respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Grains and Furtilizer Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There are three ships namely CMA CGM Titus, MSC Pamela and MOL Generosity carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
