Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC) Model Customs Collectorate, Preventive on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle substantial quantity of heroin to United Kingdom at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP). According to details, credible information was received that some unscrupulous elements were planning to transport substantial quantity of heroin to UK via courier service.
Reacting on this information, the staff posted at DEC intercepted parcel of ladies hand bags to be shipped to Bradford, United Kingdom through courier service at JIAP, Karachi. The detailed examination of the said parcel led to recovery of 1.75 kilograms of heroin powder worth Rs 10.77 million tentatively. FIR has been lodged to apprehend the culprits behind this heinous crime.
