Recovery of missing persons: SHC seeks replies from IG Sindh, DG Rangers Sindh

Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday sought the replies from IG Sindh, Home Department and DG Rangers Sindh about the recovery of missing persons and ordered them to submit their replies by August 07, 2019.
A division bench of SHC issued these orders while hearing identical petitions, requesting the court to recover the missing persons. Court issued notices to concerned departments after bench directed that disappeared persons should be produced in the court by recovering them. In its ruling, court observed that missing persons should be recovered immediately as their lives are under threat.
Bench also showed its displeasure over Police Department for not registering FIRS about the missing persons after it was informed that Shah Zaib, Abdul Wakeel, Mohammad Jameel and others were arrested from various parts of Karachi.
Petitioners submitted before the court that these persons were arrested by the personnel of law enforcing agencies in civvies as well as in uniforms and later went missing as their whereabouts are unknown to their families.
