LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging the formation of a joint investigations team (JIT) for probing Sahiwal incident.
The petition was filed by Jalil, brother of Sahiwal incident victim Khalil, through his counsel Barrister Ehtisham.
The petitioner requested the court to set aside the JIT formed for investigations of Sahiwal incident. He said that the IGP formed the JIT despite the fact that he did not have any authority for the purpose. The petitioner further submitted that he did not hope for any justice from the JIT.
He pleaded with the court for formation of a judicial commission comprising high court judges for inquiry besides setting aside the JIT.
