Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday released assets details of the members of Sindh Assembly. According to the ECP details, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah owns two vehicles worth Rs14.2 million, Rs160 million bank balance, while his spouse owns over one kilo gold jewelery. Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Firdaus Shamim Naqvi owns Rs168.4 million value assets.
Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader and sister of former president and party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur has assets worth over Rs380 million. She didn't mention any overseas assets. She also owns around one kilogram of gold jewelry. Faryal Talpur's daughters Fatima Talpur and Ayesha Talpur, own assets worth Rs33.1 million and Rs140 million respectively.
Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani has declared Rs64 million assets with the ECP, while provincial minister Saeed Ghani Rs20 million worth assets, the election commission said. Former provincial minister Sharjeel Memon has declared assets having more than Rs370 million worth. He also declared three kilograms of gold, ECP said. Sindh minister Syeda Shehla Raza has declared assets worth Rs18 million.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement MPA Kunwar Naveed Jameel has assets worth 52.3 million, while his party colleague and former leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izhar has assets worth Rs11.7 million, according to the election commission, while, Sarwat Fatima has declared assets worth Rs1,20,000.
Haleem Adil Shaikh, a PTI MPA from Sindh has declared assets worth 19.3 million, while his party colleague Khurram Sherzaman has declared over 50 million rupees assets with the election commission. According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), this is mandatory under Section 137 of the Elections Act, 2017, under which the members of the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies are required to submit yearly statements of assets and liabilities including spouse and dependent children with the election commission.
