All Pakistan Cement Dealers Association (APCDA) has been asked by the government to get ready for talks with a high-level official team on Saturday to resolve the issues being faced by them due to which they are continuously observing a complete shutdown of sale and purchase of cement since Tuesday.
All Pakistan Cement Dealers Association (APCDA) President Muhammad Asif Saeed told Business Recorder here on Friday that they have received a call from the Punjab Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal to be ready to possibly meet the FBR Chairman Shabbar Zaidi, Punjab Industries Minister Aslam Iqbal and others to discuss the issues being faced by the cement dealers due to taxes levied on businesses in the budget for the current financial year.
Asif said that they had a round of talks with the manufacturers of the cement today saying that manufacturers should not charge additional taxes from them unless the issue is settled by the government and the FBR. However, he said that the talks failed to reach any decision and now they are looking towards their meeting with the high-powered government team tomorrow.
It may be worth mentioning here that the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Syed Muhammad Shabbar Zaidi is also visiting the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) on Saturday noon to listen to the reservations of the industrial and business community regarding the taxes introduced in the budget 2019-20.
