Ekta Kapoor welcomes baby boy via surrogacy
Indian TV mogul Ekta Kapoor has welcomed a baby boy via surrogacy. She has named her newborn Ravie Kapoor after her father and veteran actor Jeetendra, whose real name is Ravi Kapoor.
Speaking about becoming a grandfather again, Jeetendra told Mid Day, “I was a dada earlier. Now, I have become a nana. My life is complete!” Talking about naming the child Ravie, the actor added that they added the ‘E’ in the end, “They wanted an astrologically [favourable] name starting with R and then Ekta thought why not name him after baba?”.
Ekta announced the birth of her child through social media. “By God's grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added to my world. I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby's birth has made me,” Ekta said in a statement.
Ekta’s younger brother Tusshar Kapoor also became father in 2016. He also chooses to become single father via surrogacy.
Many Bollywood celebrities have their kids via surrogacy. Seven years ago, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had their son Azad through surrogacy. Karan Johar’s twins Roohi and Yash arrived on February 7, 2017 by the same method. Actor Sunny Leone also had twins via surrogacy last year.
