"ChildLife Foundation is providing full spectrum of medical care, from emergency rooms, to primary care clinics, down to preventive health practices at all centres without any interruption," a spokesman said in a statement issued here on Monday.
"NICH - ER, a 55 bedded capacity from Thursday till 12 noon Saturday, treated 925 patients. Similarly, Civil Hospital, Sindh Government Hospital Korangi-5, Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, People Medical College Nawabshah, Chandka Medical Hospital, Larkana facilities are fully engaged in routine work of saving lives of children of Pakistan. Moreover, in hospitals during the nurses strike our bed occupancy is 200 percent," the spokesman said.
However, after the emergency treatment at ER, patients are forwarded to hospital wards for further treatment where due to strike they are not being admitted to the ward hence backlog is increasing at ER, said the statement.
At ChildLife most critical patients are taken on priority. We have limited sources of oxygen supply and to prevent infections we prioritise the most critical patients.
