The Karachi Port handled 95,920 tonnes of cargo comprising 62,693 tonnes of import cargo and 33,227 tonnes of export cargo including 5,851 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 62,693 tonnes comprised of 42,457 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,694 tonnes of canola; 3,903 tonnes of DAP; 8,639 tonnes of rock phosphate and 6,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 33,227 tonnes comprised of 31,377 tonnes of containerised cargo; 150 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,851 containers comprising of 2,752 containers import and 3,099 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 844 of 20's and 901 of 40's loaded while 30 of 20's and 38 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 912 of 20's and 494 of 40's loaded containers while 333 of 20's and 433 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely MS Tiger, Ever Decent, Hyundai Loyalty, Szczecin Trader and Palomar carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. Kota Karim, APL England, Irenes Reliance, OOCL Shanghai, CSL Santa Maria, CMA CGM Lamartine, Sunrise, MT Shalamar and Southern Dragon carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 127,755 tonnes comprising 110,465 tonnes of import cargo and 17,290 tonnes of export cargo including 2,960 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 110,465 tonnes includes 200 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,666 tonnes of palm kernel; 11,000 tonnes of palm oil; 54,149 tonnes of coal; 2,500 tonnes of chemical and 38,950 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 17,290 tonnes includes 17,290 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,960 containers comprising of 2,050 containers import and 910 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were six ships namely MSC Busan, MSC Clea, IVS Glen Eagle, Yasa Aysen, GS Avenue and UACC Masafi carrying containers, general cargo, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten vessels viz. Le Harve, Zea Singapore, Rio Chaopa, IVS Gemini, IVS Pine Hurst, Lorentzos, Chemroad Aleana, Maersk Princess, Nord Jewel and Argent Bloom carrying containers, general cargo, steel coil, coal, cement, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six ships viz. Maersk Kinloss, Le Havre, Zea Singapore, IVS Pine Hurst, Chemroad Aleana and Nord Jewel carrying containers, general cargo, coal, chemical and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely Maersk Kinloss carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
