Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Saturday said that an inquiry has been started into the New Islamabad International Airport project where the cost increased from Rs 38 billion to Rs 105 billion. Talking to the media persons in Rawalpindi on Saturday, Ghulam Sarwar Khan said the cost of New Islamabad International Airport project may further increase to Rs 150 billion because the project has not been completed fully so far.
While talking about the opposition creating the mess, he said the opposition is busy in hatching conspiracies to destabilize the system, adding the opposition parties stand exposed before the masses. He said the people will not become part of any protest movement of the opposition parties as they fully understand their (opposition parties') real motives.
He said the opposition parties cannot hide their corruption through such tactics. Khan said the PML-N has always tried to undermine and weaken the institutions, including judiciary and military, for personal gains. He said the opposition does not even know what it wants, adding, "The opposition started off by saying they will go for protest after Ramazan, which they could not, then they said they would not let the budget sail through the National Assembly but they failed, then they planned a motion against speaker and now they are after the Senate chairman and say they will go for no-confidence motion against him."
The federal minister regretted that no-confidence motion moved by the opposition against the Senate chairman is just meant to destabilize the system. He expressed confidence that this no-confidence motion will meet failure.
