The Karachi Port handled 141,588 tonnes of cargo comprising 100,333 tonnes of import cargo and 41,255 tonnes of export cargo including 4,820 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 100,333 tonnes comprised of 42,143 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,157 tonnes of DAP and 52,033 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 41,255 tonnes comprised of 36,691 tonnes of containerised cargo; 764 tonnes of bulk cargo and 3,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,820 containers comprising of 2,281 containers import and 2,539 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 947 of 20's and 530 of 40's loaded while 48 of 20's and 113 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 836 of 20's and 412 of 40's loaded containers while 281 of 20's and 299 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were ten ships namely Seaspan Melbourne, Nord Spring, Xin Los Angles, Chem Venus, Welleye, Jal Siddhi, Team Samba, Navig8 Sirius, Bamzi and Marmuna carrying containers, oil tankers, seed, chemical, bunker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were ten vessels viz. Seaspan Melbourne, Diyala, Wehr Schulau, Hyundai New York, Sea King, Jal Siddhi, Maersk Princess, Navig8 Sirius, Bamzi and Dolphin Princess carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, bunker and supply ship respectively currently at the berths.
The total import cargo of 79,571 tonnes includes 1,649 tonnes of steel coil; 2,611 tonnes of palm oil; 9,925 tonnes of coal; 3,300 tonnes of chemical; 30,000 tonnes of mogas, 12,630 tonnes of canola seeds and 19,456 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 48,599 tonnes includes 472 tonnes of general cargo 48,127 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,557 containers comprising of 1,024 containers import and 2,533 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were two ships namely Cape Male and CMA CGM Medea carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while six more ships namely SL Tweety, Thor Medoc, SC Hong Kong, Evridki, Ocean Makmur and Argent Bloom carrying containers, coal, chemical, mogas, canola seeds and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, chemical, canola seeds, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen vessels viz. Conti Lyon Ru Yi, Han He, Secon-6, Leo Ocean, SBI Gemini, Al-Ejnan, Tomson Gas, Maersk Princess, Yamilah-III, Torm Vencore, Rhana and BTS Sabina carrying containers, general cargo, steel coil, coal, cement, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were eight ships viz. Conti Lyon, CPO Hamburg, Ru Yi, SBI Gemini, Thomson Gas, Al-Ejnan, Yamilah-III and BTS Sabina carrying containers, general cargo, coal, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There are three ships namely CPO Bremen, Maersk Seletar and GH Zephyr carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
