Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the PTI government will continue its untiring efforts against the corruption while corrupt elements will not be allowed to hinder the process of national development.
"The menace of corruption has weakened the country and Pakistan would have been rich and prosperous, if the past governments not succumbed to corruption," the CM said, adding: "It is deplorable that the former rulers did nothing for the people and left no stone unturned to devastate the economy."
On the other side, the PTI government is acting as the custodian of the national kitty and every penny is being spent on the welfare of the people. The government is working hard; difficulties will soon be removed and Pakistan will move towards development and prosperity, he said in a statement.
The CM maintained that the elements who mercilessly looted the national exchequer are enemy of the whole nation and faces of fake claimants of 'Ameen' are fully exposed before the 220 million people of Pakistan. Those who have had infringed upon the kitty will have to be answerable for every looted penny, he added.
Sardar Usman Buzdar further said that past governments economically incapacitated the country with their mega corruption and their corruption scandals are coming to light every other day. He said, "It is for the first in the country's history that indiscriminate action has been taken against the corrupt elements."
He further said that collusion of the opposition and their uproar will not help those who have filled their pockets with the public money. Economic chaos was the result of wrong policies of the past rulers and the incumbent government is working on war footing to rectify the past mistakes, he added.
Usman Buzdar further said that the day of judgment of those who looted the nation in the garb of politics has arrived and they are unnerved that the looted money will have to be returned now.
Moreover, the Punjab CM has directed authorities concerned to take necessary measures for the disposal of rainwater from low-lying areas in Lahore and other cities of the province.
The line departments should proactively work in this regard. I will not tolerate any negligence, he said and directed that smooth flow of traffic be ensured and officers concerned should also remain available in the field. Early disposal of accumulated water should be ensured and reports to be submitted to the CM Office, he added.
