Indian Lok Sabha Speaker visits Minar-e-Pakistan
LAHORE: A 17-member Indian parliamentary delegation, led by Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, arrived here from Islamabad on Friday.
The delegation was received by Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Kumar visited the Minar-e-Pakistan accompanied by Asma Arbab Alamgir and MPAs and recorded her comments in the visitors’ book.
Talking to the media, Meira Kumar said the Indian people wanted friendly relations with the people of Pakistan. She said the delegation comprised members of different political parties and "all of us have come here with the message of peace and love."
She lauded the hospitality of the people of Pakistan and said that all issues between the two countries would be resolved through dialogue.
