The Founders-PIAF Alliance has formally kicked off election campaigns for the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) forth coming annual elections. The alliance leaders pledged to continue to raise voice for the solution of the problems being faced by the business community. The Founders Group will continue its alliance with Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) for consecutive 17 years for the upcoming election, said Alliance Election Campaign Convener Iftikhar Ali Malik. He said that majority of LCCI's former presidents was in favour of continuity of the Alliance.
He said that keeping in view of the past experience, it seems difficult to cause a dent in the formidable unity of existing alliance of "The Founder's and the "PIAF" in the provincial metropolis. "We firmly believe in rule of law, promotion of democratic system and strengthening of national economy by safeguarding the interests of traders" he said.
He said that Alliance had decided to introduce sector specialists as their candidates for the LCCI Executive Committee with the sole objective to forward solid proposals to the government for economic progress and prosperity. He said that the names of the Alliance candidates were finalised with the consultation of market representatives. Despite unprecedented crisis at national level, all efforts were made to restore the confidence of the business community, he added.
Malik hoped that the business community would repose confidence in Alliance in the larger interests of the economy of the country. He said that a large number of industrial associations have announced to support the Alliance for upcoming LCCI elections. He said the Alliance would continue to serve the business community in the larger interest of economy and would urge government to form business friendly policies.
Earlier LCCI former presidents Sh Asif, Mian Muhammad Ali, Mian Nauman Kabir, Acting President Khawaja Shahzad Nasir, Mian Waqar Ahmad and Anjum Nisar also spoke on the occasion and introduced the candidates to the participants of the launching ceremony.
