Karachi on Monday received a long and isolated spell of drizzle after hot waves battered the citizens during the day with temperature up to 37 degrees Celsius, the Met Office said. The Met forecast a partly cloudy and humid weather for the city with chances of light rain during night and morning hours in the next 24 hours. Temperature may range up to 36 degrees Celsius and humidity 75 percent.
In the next 24 hours mainly hot and humid weather is expected in the most parts of the country with an isolated rain-thundershower and windstorm in Peshawar, Kohat, Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Hazara, Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi Divisions, besides Islamabad and Kashmir.
In the last 24 hours weather remained hot and humid in the most parts of the country. Scattered rain-thundershower/windstorm occurred in Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Malakand, Kohat, Hazara, Quetta and Kalat Divisions and Kashmir.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Kakul as 29 mm, Mithi 25 mm, Barkhan 22, Buner 19 mm, Murree 15 mm, Cherat 9 mm and Parachinar 7 mm. Dalbandin was the hottest place with 46 degrees Celsius, Nokkundi 45, Sibbi, Dadu and Lasbella 44, each, Hyderabad 43, Multan and Gilgit 40, each, Peshawar 39, Quetta 37, Islamabad and Lahore 36, each. "Seasonal low lies over western Balochistan. Moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating central and lower parts of the country," the Met said.
