Hundreds of workers of JUI-F, ANP, PPP, PML-N and QWP on Thursday attended the anti-government rally in provincial capital Peshawar. The opposition parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa marked the first anniversary of the 2018 general elections as 'Youm-e-Siah', 'black day', by holding protest rally on Ring Road Peshawar. Unprecedented security measures were taken place around venue by deployment of over 1,100 police officers and 250 traffic police officers at the Motorway Chowk on Ring Road.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman while addressing the rally of united opposition in connection of observing Black Day against the alleged rigging in 2018 General Elections said that the general elections 2018 was fake and people had rejected it. He said nation also rejected the selected Prime Minister of the country. He remarked that they will never accept the fake election results. He maintained that they will prefer to be jailed but will not ever accept the selected government of PTI.
ANP central president, Asfandyar Wali Khan said in his speech that peace and stability in Pakistan is not possible without restoration of peace in neighbouring Afghanistan adding that peace and prosperity of both the countries are interlinked. He said that the selected government of PTI has failed to resolve Pakistan's problems. He lamented that government has failed to control inflation in the country. He said that opposition political parties have united against the selected government.
Asfandyar asked PM Imran Khan to prove his claim against me of owning properties in Dubai and Malaysia. He said that houses were destroyed in North and South Waziristan tribal areas; however, low priced houses are being constructed in Islamabad. The ANP chief said that US President Donald Trump in his conversation with Afghanistan claimed that he could destroy Afghanistan within weeks.
Talking about the recent visit of PM Imran to US, ANP chief said that US president Donald Trump during the meeting asked him that he will remove Afghanistan from map. He said Taliban's originated by Mughal, British and American had failed to remove the Afghanistan, how can do it by United States. He linked the Afghan peace with durable calm in Pakistan, especially in merged tribal districts.
Calling the July 25 2018 as black in the history of the country, PPP leader Nayyar Bokhari while addressing the rally said that another Shaukat Aziz was imposed through fake elections in the country. He said the PTI is not marking 'Thanksgiving Day' but it's actually 'inflation' day. "We will soon sink both Imran Khan and Sanjrani", claimed Nayyar Bokhari. He added that Imran Khan visited to United States on government expense but he made fundraising for his party.
PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal lashed out at the government during the public gathering and saying that the incumbent government had "ruined" the economy in the first year of its tenure. 'I brought message of PML-N, Nawaz Sharif from Kot Lakpat jail", Ahsan Iqbal said while addressing to charged crowd in the protest rally. I was in jail but fulfilled all promises made with people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said while quoting message of the PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
PML-N leader said the government is incompetent and it has neither vision nor team of professionals for governing affairs. He said that the PTI had stated it will not take loans from anyone but it went to almost every other nation. Ahsan Iqbal took credit for merger of erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with KP and restored peace in the province. He said the country's economy is ruined by incumbent rulers during last one-year.
While commenting on overall economic conditions and government policies, PML-N leader said that the country's economy has put on stake by presenting of IMF-dictated budget for next financial year 2019-20. He said the poor masses had been overburden by imposition heavy direct and indirect taxes in the budget. Ahsan Iqbal said that PTI leader Imran Khan had asserted that he would prefer suicide to seeking financial assistance from the IMF, but now the government was jubilant over its agreement for loan with the money-lending institution.
QWP Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan during his speech lambasted at the PTI government for its flaws policies, saying that his party from very first day had been calling the general elections 2018 was controversial. He said the Imran Niazi had put the country integrity on stake. He said the government had imposed additional burden of taxes on poor masses and everyone is perturbed due to wrong policies of incumbent rulers. If God willing (Insha Allah), day is not far away when real democracy will establish in Pakistan, Sherpao said. He said country is heading to dictatorship by violating the constitution.
Opposition leader in KP Assembly and JUI-F leader, Ikram Khan Durrani said that the last general elections were not only fake but stolen public mandate. He said the masses have rejected the selected Prime Minister by their participation in the protest rally. Durrani said the PTI was made promise to give jobs to large number of people, but unemployment is increasing with each passing day in the country. He said that government had imposed additional taxes on poor masses. He alleged the billion tress tsunami and Bus Rapid Transit are hub of corruption, but NAB is reluctant to conduct inquiry into misuse of money in these projects.
