Gold prices on Thursday surged to a historic high to Rs 84400 per tola with Rs 200 increase on the local market, traders said. The yellow metal prices went up by $1 to $1427 per ounce on the world market. The price of gold per 10 grams reached Rs 72360 with Rs 189 increase. Silver was traded for Rs 1070 per tola and Rs 917 per 10 grams on the local market while $16.55 per ounce on the international market, traders added.
