The recent train derailment incidents have badly disturbed the train schedule between Karachi and up-country as Pakistan Railways (PR) has not been able to operate coaches on time, causing hardships for its commuters at different stations.
As per details released from PR Karachi Division, the departure of several trains from the metropolis delayed on Sunday as well. Due to late arrival, the passenger train Pakistan Express left for Rawalpindi at 1:30am instead of its scheduled time of 1:00pm.
Similarly, Pak Business Express started its journey from Karachi to Lahore at 6:45 instead of 4pm. Millat Express departed towards Sargodha/Malakwal at 6pm instead of 5pm. PR management has asked its commuters to approach inquiry number 021-117 for further information and queries.
On July 23, two bogies and the engine of the Bahauddin Zakaria Express derailed at the Kotri station near Hyderabad, causing inordinate delay for other passenger trains to leave. The train was travelling from Karachi to Multan. Early this month, some 20 people were killed while 75 others injured as passenger train - Akbar Express, collided with a freight train at the Walhar Railway Station in Sadiqabad.
