Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that seemingly a dictator is ruling the country and moral values are dead.
Talking to media after meeting senior journalist Irfan Siddiqui, he said "I have come to him to show solidarity," adding that a sad incident happened with him a few days ago. He said government is making arrests of politicians by making false allegations.
He said it should be investigated who was behind this incident. He questioned whether political or intellectuals association with particular party was a crime. Maulana said that the present government was not letting anybody to criticize the performance of the government and was even arresting columnists and other writers. He said that Irfan Siddiqui in his columns has criticized JUI-F and party leadership and also hailed the party, but his criticism or any other journalists' criticism provides a chance to correct oneself.
Maulana flayed the government and said his upcoming million-march against the government will be peaceful as per constitution. The march against selected government, saying the present government was not real but imposed on the people of Pakistan.
Responding to a question regarding an invitation sent by the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Qamar Bajwa to meet the JUI-F chief, Maulana dispelled the notion, saying that it was just propaganda and nothing real.
Later in the day the JUI-F chief held a meeting with the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly and the President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Shahbaz Shairf. Both the leaders discussed the political situation of the country and talked about joint strategy of the opposition for no confidence vote against Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani.
The opposition parties also held a meeting in the evening to decide Chairman Senate Elections on Thursday (Today). The meeting besides others was also attended by PPP Chiarman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, joint opposition's Chairman Senate candidate Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Awami National Party leadership and others.
