The Accountability Court hearing a corruption case against former Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday granted time to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) till August 28 to submit reply with respect to miscellaneous petitions filed by the co-accused.
While hearing the case, Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir approved the NAB's request to grant it more time for submitting reply regarding the miscellaneous petitions filed by the co-accused namely Mansoor Raza Rizvi and Naeem Mehmood, both directors of Dar's companies. Three co-accused Ahmed, Rizvi and Naeem Mehmood appeared before the Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir.
All the three co-accused including former President National Bank of Pakistan Saeed Ahmed, Rizvi and Mehmood were present in the court during the hearing.
In the miscellaneous applications, the accused through their counsel requested the court that the NAB should submit a statement before the court that they would not further investigate them.
During the previous hearing, Prosecutor NAB Afzal Qureshi told the court that it is not possible to tell the accused that the NAB would not conduct further investigation against them.
During the hearing, the court asked the NAB about its reply with respect to miscellaneous applications. The NAB could not submit its reply about the miscellaneous applications and requested the court to grant it more time in this regard.
The court approved the NAB's request and adjourned the hearing till August 28. The NAB had filed a supplementary reference against Dar on February 26, 2018. The reference comprises seven volumes and includes 24 witnesses.
