A group in a Chair of Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ai Zaidi, who is also an overseer of Clean Karachi Campaign, has decided more than 10,000 volunteers, political workers and people representative will take part in the Clean Karachi Campaign.
To free Karachi from all type of dirt, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi presided a meeting wherein it is decided that waste and dirt will be removed from the metropolis using 1000 tractor trolleys, more than 200 dumpers and loaders.
The huddle also decided not to take any single penny from the national exchequer while Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is a key partner of the campaign will provide technical assistance and heavy machinery. Besides business and trade organizations of the city will also join the campaign.
Volunteers from every municipality ward will become part of the cleanliness campaign while 48 spots have been identified in the district west and 70 destinations have been selected in the district east and south. Major Nullahs in the six districts of the city will be cleaned in the first phase while dirt and dust from major roads and streets will be lifted in the second phase.
The lifting of dirt and dust around the schools and parks and emptying the dumping yard around the city will be a priority of the cleanliness campaign.
