The incidents of motor vehicles theft have shown an increase in the federal capital as over seven vehicles including motor bikes were stolen from various localities during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, over seven cases of auto theft, six cases of kidnapping and over six cases of various kinds of theft were reported to various police stations of the city.
The most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Tarnol, Shehzad Town and Sihala police stations. During the period under review, Tarnol police station registered one case each of snatching cash at gunpoint, murder and auto theft. Talha Mehood lodged a complaint with Tarnol police station that armed robbers killed his cousin Ghulam Dill after snatching his vehicle bearing registration number RIS-2824 and a mobile phone. Auto thieves stole a bike (RIK-4391) of Muhammad Qasid.
In the same period, one case each of robbery and kidnapping was reported to Shehzad Town police station. Qasir Bukhari informed Shehzad Town police station that unknown persons kidnapped his daughter. Another Muhammad Habib filed a case with Shehzad Town police station that accused Muhammad Nabi stole Rs 135,000 from his home.
Sihala police station registered two cases of auto theft. Motor vehicle thieves stole a car bearing registration number LEA-6300 of Abdul Wahab and lifted a bike bearing registration number RIN-1146 of Jan Khan.
During the period under review, Aabpara police station registered one case each of kidnapping and robbery. Sabir Masih lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that accused Sajid kidnapped his daughter. Another Mohsin Naveed lodged a complaint with Aabpra police station that accused Ishaq along with his son snatched Rs 100,000 from him.
Similarly, one case each of auto theft was registered at Industrial Area and Koral police stations, while Karachi Company, Khanna and Lohi Bher police stations registered one case each of kidnapping.
