ANP's president, Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that the whole nation is on one page due to emerging critical situation at frontiers. He said that the politician can develop differences over internal politics including the interference of state agencies, but whenever the situation at frontiers becomes critical they are on the same page.
In a statement issued from Bacha Khan Markaz here Sunday, he said that the current tension between Pakistan and India is a matter of high concern and is particularly for the forces believing in non-violence and in favour of the resolution of issues through negotiations.
Asfandyar Wali Khan said that the governments of both countries should take steps cautiously, adding that instead of decreasing violence triggers hatred. He said that both countries should show restrain and for the resolution of issues come to table talk. He said that war and war hysteria is no solution to any issue rather negotiations is the only way that make solution to problems possible. He said that the prevailing problems can be resolved only through negotiations to establish a peaceful living environment for the inhabitants on both sides.
The ANP chief said that the world is aware that Pakistan and India are nuclear powers and if war breaks out between them then it will not be limited to the use of traditional arms like past rather both sides with face irreparable loss. The world had witnessed the gruesome destruction after nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and in case of war no one can predict the destructions. Therefore, he said for the salvation and security of both countries require avoiding provocation and threats to adopt the path of reconciliation and search out solution to all problems including Kashmir through negotiations.
He said that today Pakistan is standing at the crucial stage of history and the political leadership is required to adopt collective political wisdom and sagacity. He said that Kashmir is basic dispute between both countries and its resolution should be searched out in light of the resolutions of United Nations. The ANP chief said that Pakistan has suffered hugely in the war against terrorism and there is need to set aside all difference and play role in become fuel in the war. He maintained that ANP believes in non-violence and even today they will raise voice in favour of peace.
