KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday directed the assistant attorney general to contact the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and submit its reply in Anwar Majeed’s petition against it.
The court heard the petition filed by Anwar Majeed, the head of the Omni Group who has been accused in a money laundering and fake accounts case,who has claimed that the FIA has made fake cases against him.
He pleaded the court to stop the FIA from harassing him and order the agency to provide him with details of the pending cases against him. Majeed, in the petition, had said that FIA should be asked to submit details of the ongoing inquiry in money laundering case too.
The court asked the assistant attorney general to contact FIA and submit its reply on next hearing.
FIA Focal Officer Mirza Tanveer said that the investigating officer was busy in submitting relevant records to the NAB. The court, later, adjourned the hearing till 8th February.
