The Sindh Assembly on Monday adopted a unanimous resolution to condemn India for revoking occupied Kashmir's special constitutional status, asking the Pakistan government to step up its diplomatic efforts to help Kashmiris attain freedom from a 70-year of Indian repression.
A joint resolution by all political parties from either side of the house deplored India's unilateral act of suspending the special status its constitution guarantees to Kashmir. The lawmakers also demanded of the Pakistan to appoint a full time deputy foreign minister with an exclusive diplomatic assignment on the occupied Kashmir.
Debating on the resolution, Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah warned that India has adopted a 'very danger' path, asking the UN and the entire international community to take notice of the atrocities the Indian government has been inflicting on Kashmiris, besides the present development that changed the occupied Kashmir status. "I condemn the Indian Presidential Ordinance," he said, adding that "it is shameful to change the status of occupied Kashmir and Jammu".
MMA's Syed Abdul Rasheed said that Pakistan should outlined its categorical policy on occupied Kashmir, saying that the former governments widely ignored the issue that resulted in unending atrocities on Muslim youth and people of the valley by Indian military. He said that Muslim majority is now being converted into a minority in Kashmir, calling the Indian government's move 'shameful'. He said that the government should appoint a deputy foreign minister to fight Kashmir case on world diplomatic front.
GDA's Nusrat Sehar Abbasi asked the non-Muslim global community to help the Kashmiris attain their freedom as Indian atrocities are growing on the people of valley every passing day. "We just want Modi [Indian premier] to know that Kashmiris want freedom," from Indian occupation, she said, adding that Indian troops are killing people in Kashmir.
PPP's Shamim Mumtaz said that the Indian army has killed over one hundred thousand Kashmiris but failed to stifle their voice for freedom. Revoking the Kashmir special status by Indian government, she said, is a 'conspiracy'. MQM's Javed Hanif said that his party will continue its support to Kashmir cause of independence, saying that the 'article 35' of Indian constitution has been revoked that will now turn Kashmiris majority into minority and permit outsiders to buy properties in the valley. He said that the changing of Kashmir demography is a conspiracy. He added that Kashmiris will continue their struggle for freedom no matter what Indian government conspires against them.
PTI's parliamentary leader, Haleem Adil Shaikh called Kashmir 'integral part' of Pakistan, wishing "India will soon disintegrate into several parts". He said that the entire nation on Kashmir is united with a single voice for the Kashmiris freedom from a long-Indian occupation.
TLP's Qasim Fakhri said that the government should also announce Jihad to liberate Kashmir from Indian occupation. GDA's Nand Kumar and PTI's Dewan Sachal also condemned the Indian ordinance to revoke the Kashmir special status, saying that Kashmir is the integral part of Pakistan.
The resolution condemns the Indian Presidential Ordinance to end the Kashmir's special status, calling the changing of the valley's demography 'shameful'. It says that Kashmir is a disputed territory between two countries including Pakistan and India. The Indian move is tantamount to depriving Kashmiris of the right of self-determination, saying that the international community and Muslim world should also take notice of India's firing cluster bombs hitting civilian populations in independent Kashmir.
