Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed here against the Indian cruelties in occupied Kashmir. The various govt and non-govt institutions, social, and business organisations arranged special programmes across the Faisalabad division to show solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren and condemning the Indian Army atrocities.
The district administration had also arranged central rally to condemn the Indian army atrocities and to express the solidarity with the Kashmiris. The officers/staff of different departments including education, health, solid waste management, social welfare, other institutions and people from different walks of life participated. The rally was led by Deputy Commissioner Tariq Khan Niazi. DHA CEO Dr Mushtaq Sipra, FWMC CEO Kashif Raza Awan, district coordinator Dr Bilal Ahmad, NGO representatives, and students also participated in the walk.
The rally was started from District Council Chowk and culminated at Katchri Bazar Chowk after passing through Khaliq Qureshi Road and in front of the press club building. The participants of the rally carrying banners and placards inscribed the slogans of 'Kashmir bane ga Pakistan,' 'Stop cruelties in Occupied Kashmir,' 'Kashmir is integral part of Pakistan,' and 'Kashmiri brethrens should be given a right of self determination'.
Expressing his views, Deputy Commissioner Tariq Khan Niazi condemned the atrocities of Indian forces in held Kashmir and said Kashmiri brethren should be given their fundamental right in accordance with their aspiration and according to the UN resolution. He said the world powers should realise the requirements of the justice and to play their role for the independence of the Indian held Kashmir.
He said Pakistani nation would stand by Kashmiri brethren until the realisation of their rights to self determination. DC said the Kashmiris cannot be deprived of their right through brutalities of Indian army. He said we salute the struggle of independence of Kashmiri brothers and sisters and Pakistani nation would continue their moral and diplomatic support them.
Meanwhile, different programmes were held at Faisalabad Medical University in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day. Human chain from Faisalabad Medical University to Allied Hospital was laid besides observing one minute silence. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Zafar Ali Ch, MS Allied Hospital Dr Khurram Altaf, MS DHQ Dr Khalid Fakhar, faculty members, students, and paramedical staff also participated.
Seminar and debates were also held on Kashmir issue at the auditorium of FMU later a walk was also held to show solidarity with the Kashmir brethren which was led by VC Pro. Dr Zafar Ali Ch. Seminars were also held under the arrangements of Directorate of Colleges Faisalabad Division at Govt. College for women Samanabad and Municipal Degree College in which Parliamentarians Latif Nazar, Mian Waris Aziz, Firdous Rai were participated. Director Colleges Dr M Aalam, Imdad Ullah, teachers and students were also present.
Parliamentarians said Pakistan would not relent in its moral, political and diplomatic support until the Kashmiris realise their legitimate right to self determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions. They said that we all nation are with people of held Kashmir and would not left them alone. On this occasion prayers were also offered for the independence of held Kashmir and success of the Kashmiri brethrens.
Moreover, under the arrangements of District Education Authority a solidarity walk was arranged which was started from MC Boys Higher Secondary School, Kotwali Road and culminated at District Council Chowk after passing out side Chiniot Bazar, district accounts office, Katchri Bazar Chowk.
DEA CEO Ali Ahmad Siyan led the walk. Principal Rao Iqbal, DO Secondary Education Ch Khalid Akhtar, officers of education department, teachers and students participated in the walk. Participants urged the international community to take notice of the gross human rights violations in held Kashmir. Kashmir Solidarity Day was also observed in the tehsils of the district where assistant commissioners led the walks.
